_"To fight with grace is not to dance—it is to command the wind with steel."_ —Mindy Sofored, Last Living Master of the Ephithenian Style
---
**Lore** The ancient warrior Ephithet developed a revolutionary fighting style in the early days of Solare—an art that blended precision with raw instinct, agility, and weapon mastery. He later recorded his teachings into scrolls and texts, which became the foundation of the Ephithenian style.
After Solare’s fall, the style was nearly lost. Now, the legendary fighter Mindy Sofored, both feared and revered, is its last known master. She teaches only those she deems worthy—those with the strength to protect, the discipline to learn, and the wisdom to wield this power responsibly.
#### Sofored Master Techniques
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you learn maneuvers that are fueled by dice called Master Dice.
**Master Dice**
At 3rd level, you gain access to Master Dice. You have **five Master Dice**, which are **d8s**. A Master Die is expended when you use it to fuel a technique. You regain all expended Master Dice when you finish a **short or long rest**.
Your Master Dice improve as you gain levels in this class:
- **7th Level:** You have 7 Master Dice (d8s).
- **10th Level:** You have 8 Master Dice, and they become d10s (8d10).
- **15th Level:** You have 10 Master Dice (d10s).
- **18th Level:** Your Master Dice become d12s (10d12).
**Techniques Known**
You know 2 techniques at 3rd level. You learn additional techniques at:
- 7th Level: 1 more technique (3 total)
- 10th Level: 1 more technique (4 total)
- 15th Level: 2 more techniques (6 total)
#### Master of Combat
You are trained to fight with fluid precision.
- When you engage in two-weapon fighting, you may add your ability modifier to the damage of your off-hand attack.
- Starting at 7th level, you may make your off-hand attack without using a bonus action, once per turn. You may do this a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.
#### Techniques
The techniques are presented in alphabetical order.
##### Sofored Block All
When targeted by one or more melee attacks from any number of creatures within the same round, you may use your reaction to attempt to block them all. For each incoming melee strike, roll a d20 and add your Strength or Dexterity modifier, plus your master die roll. If the total equals or exceeds the attacker's AC, that attack is blocked. You may block up to a number of attacks equal to your proficiency bonus until the start of your next turn.
_Critical hits can only be blocked by a natural 20._
##### Sofored Block Attack
When a creature targets you with one or more melee attacks, expend a master die. For each incoming attack, roll a d20 and add your Strength or Dexterity modifier and the master die. If the result meets or exceeds the attacker’s AC, that specific attack is blocked.
_Critical hits require a natural 20 to block._
##### Sofored Brutal Attacks
When you hit with a melee attack, roll 2 master dice. If the total is 11 or higher:
- Add the total to the damage.
- The target begins **bleeding**: it takes 1d4 damage at the start of each of its turns for 1 minute.
- The target has disadvantage on its next attack roll until the start of your next turn.
- The creature may end one instance of this bleeding effect early by succeeding on a Constitution saving throw at the end of its turn (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength or Dexterity modifier).
**Multiple instances of bleeding from Brutal Strike stack**, each requiring its own successful save to end.
##### Sofored Disarm
Use an attack action or reaction, when you or an enemy hits with a melee weapon, you may attempt to disarm. Make a contested Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics) check against their Strength (Athletics) or Dexterity (Acrobatics). Add your master die. On success, the weapon is dropped and lands a number of feet away equal to the master die result.
##### Sofored Flurry Strikes
When you hit with a melee weapon, expend a master die. Add it to the attack roll. If the attack hits, make one additional attack with the same weapon.
##### Sofored Missile Deflection
When targeted by a ranged weapon attack, make a contested Dexterity check vs the attacker. Add your master die. If you win, you deflect or dodge the missile. Apply the same result to other ranged attacks from the same enemy this turn.
##### Sofored Off-Hand Flurry
As a bonus action, when two-weapon fighting, expend a master die to make two off-hand attacks instead of one. Add the master die to both attack rolls.
##### Sofored Skill of Parry
When targeted by a melee attacks, expend a master die. Until the start of your next turn, you gain +3 AC plus the master die result. If an attack misses you, roll 1d6, creatures take damage from:
1–2: main-hand weapon damage
3–4: off-hand weapon damage
5–6: both weapons' damage.
This stance ends at the start of your next turn. While active, you forfeit your next action, representing your full commitment to the parry posture.
##### Sofored Trip Attack
When you hit with a melee weapon, expend a master die and add it to the roll. On a hit, the target takes +1d4 damage and must make a Strength saving throw (DC = 8 + proficiency + STR/DEX modifier) or fall prone.
#### Resiliant Fighter
At level 7, you gain a +2 bonus to AC and have advantage on Wisdom and Intelligence saving throws.
