**Barbarian Subclass** --- ## Overview Barbarians who walk the **Path of the Sacred Body** embody divine strength through physical form, rejecting the need for armor or excess protection. Their **connection to divine nature**, specifically through deities like **[[Angoria]]** or **[[Perserphina]]**, grants them supernatural resilience, grace, and the ability to confront danger unshackled by shame or fear. The body itself is sacred—uncorrupted, powerful, and true. This path is common among warriors from the **[[Tribe of the Mother]]**, whose sacred rites center around openness, strength, and the rejection of false coverings. --- ## Features ### **3rd Level – Body as Shield** When you choose this path at 3rd level, you gain the following benefits: - While you are not wearing armor or using a shield, your AC equals **10 + your Constitution modifier + your Dexterity modifier**. - You gain resistance to **bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage** from nonmagical weapons while raging. ### **6th Level – Sacred Touch** Your unshackled presence grants calm and clarity to allies. While raging: - Allies within **10 feet** of you have **advantage on saving throws against being frightened, charmed, or confused** (such as effects from confusion spells, domination, or fear-based abilities). - You can use a bonus action to **remove one of the following conditions**—frightened, charmed, or confused—from an ally within range once per rage. ### **10th Level – Challenge of the Body** You can invoke a sacred rite of one-on-one combat. As a bonus action, choose a creature within 30 feet that can see and hear you. The target must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier) or be compelled to duel you for 1 minute. While affected: - The target has **disadvantage on attack rolls** against creatures other than you. - If the target attacks anyone else, it takes psychic damage equal to your Barbarian level. This effect ends early if you fall unconscious or if the target cannot see or hear you. ### **14th Level – Unbound Form** You move as a divine force of nature. While raging: - You are immune to the **paralyzed** and **restrained** conditions. - You gain **climbing and swimming speeds equal to your movement speed**. - At the start of your turn, if you have no clothing or armor equipped, you regain **1d6 hit points** (once per rage). --- ## Optional Flavor Notes This subclass is ideal for campaigns exploring themes of body sanctity, natural strength, or tribal culture. Characters following this path often forgo clothing entirely as part of a divine or spiritual oath, viewing the body as both weapon and temple.
