_9th-Level Abjuration (Ritual)_ **Casting Time:** 1 action (ritual) **Range:** 300 ft. **Components:** V, S, M (three gemstones worth 1,000 gp each, consumed) **Duration:** Until dispelled or triggered **School:** Abjuration **Attack/Save:** None --- ### Description You fracture spells into a hidden, orbiting orb of arcane force — a silent satellite that circles you, waiting for the moment it must unleash devastation. --- ### Effects **Stored Spells** Store up to three spells of 8th level or lower, or two spells of 9th level, chosen when cast. Each must deal direct damage. **Orbit Distance** The orb drifts in a 60–300 ft. orbit around you, automatically repositioning to remain outside antimagic cones or suppression zones centered on you. **Trigger** You set up to three conditions for detonation (for example, “If the caster is caught in an antimagic cone,” “If the caster drops below half health,” or “If attacked by a creature of CR 20 or higher”). **Discharge** When triggered, the orb shatters, casting all stored spells simultaneously from its own location. **Backlash** When the orb detonates, you take 2d6 psychic damage per stored spell. --- ### Orb Properties **Invisibility** The orb is invisible and intangible, detectable only with _true seeing_ or similar divination. **Magical Signature** _Detect Magic_ reveals only a faint abjuration/evocation aura around you. Pinpointing the orb requires a DC 25 Arcana check or Wish-level divination. **Durability** If discovered, the orb has AC 22, HP 75, immunity to nonmagical damage. _Dispel Magic_ cast at 9th level, or _Disjunction_, unravels it. **Persistence** The orb remains indefinitely until its spells are triggered, or until you willingly dismiss it.
