## Bordak Darkslayer
**Race**: Orc
**Class**: Fighter (Champion Archetype)
**Alignment**: Neutral Good
**Origin**: Exiled from the [[Bonefire Clan]]
**Role**: Warrior of Honor, Fangbearer of [[Gonosh]], Bearer of Grief
---
### Overview
Bordak is a stoic and powerful orc warrior forged in tragedy. Once the favored warrior of his clan and son-in-law to its Chieftain, his life was destroyed by jealousy, betrayal, and the corruption of honor. Having lost his wife and daughter to political spite, he walks a path of painful purpose, seeking either redemption or death in glorious battle. Now known as the **Darkslayer**, he bears two legendary axes—the twin Fangs of [[Gonosh]]—and stands as a symbol of ancestral strength and unyielding resolve.
---
### Appearance & Personality
- **Expression**: Somber and focused, rarely smiles
- **Posture**: Broad-shouldered, battle-scarred, carries both axes with ease
- **Demeanor**: Quiet, restrained strength; speaks only when needed
Bordak wears chain mail reinforced with blackened iron, dented from many battles, with no sigils save for two etched fangs along his belt. His long tusks are chipped from combat. His silence holds weight—when Bordak speaks, others listen.
---
### Background
- Grew up in the [[Bonefire Clan]], best friend to the Chieftain’s son **Gorgol**
- Married **Nubshak**, a fellow warrior, and fathered a daughter, **Naruz**
- Surpassed Gorgol in strength and favor, creating deep resentment
- When Gorgol became Chieftain, he ordered an unjust attack on a peaceful elven village
- Bordak, unlike most orcs, viewed these elves with respect and honor; he protested the attack
- For defying Gorgol’s command, he and his family were exiled
- Out of a sense of honor, Bordak secretly warned the elves, ensuring their escape
- Captured by the clan and forced to watch the execution of Nubshak and Naruz
- In his grief and fury, he slaughtered the entire clan and left their heads on pikes
- Buried his family beside the old Chieftain and wandered the world
**Important Note**: Bordak has never revealed the truth of his actions to anyone. The rest of the Orc Union still believes the [[Bonefire Clan]] fell to a cursed elven spell or forest demon. Among orcs, elves are still seen as enemies, particularly within the Valley of Ketaca, though tenuous alliances have been formed with elves from the continents of **Elandra** and **Lialandra**.
---
### Beliefs & Motivations
- Honor means protecting the weak and doing what is right, not obeying blindly
- Seeks redemption or a death worthy of [[Gonosh]]’s gaze
- Haunted by visions of his wife and child—drives his every action
- Struggles to forgive himself, but refuses to fall to bitterness
---
### Connections
- **[[Tarnik]]**: A contrast in ideology—Bordak sees [[Tarnik]]’s hatred as dangerous, but respects his strength
- **[[Grom]]**: A minotaur whose strength is matched only by his loyalty. Bordak sees great potential in him, but worries that [[Tarnik]]’s harsh ideology may corrupt the minotaur’s innate sense of justice and compassion.
---
### Potential Arcs
- **The Return of Honor**: Bordak may become a new Chieftain or spiritual leader, if he survives the trials
- **Legacy Forged in Fire**: As the bearer of the twin Fangs, Bordak may be remembered as the rebirth of the orcish spirit
---
### Notable Titles
- **Darkslayer** – A name whispered with awe and fear among orc tribes
- **Fangbearer** – Wielder of both ancient axes of [[Gonosh]]
- **The Silent Judge** – Known for his unwavering sense of right and wrong
