### Scythe of Fragments (Artifact) _Weapon (scythe), artifact (requires attunement by a spellcaster or warrior of non-evil alignment)_ - **Attack Bonus:** +3, counts as magical. - **Damage:** 1d10 slashing + 3d10 force damage. - **Undead Bane:** Against undead, the scythe deals an additional 4d10 radiant and 4d10 force damage. - **Soul Cleave:** On a critical hit against an undead, that creature must succeed on a DC 22 Constitution save or be destroyed instantly, Legendary Resistance functions normally against this effect. - **Soul Absorption:** When you reduce a creature to 0 hit points, the Scythe of Fragments captures a **soul fragment**—a fleeting echo of life-force released at the moment of death. This effect does not bind, consume, or impede the creature’s soul, which passes on normally. You can store up to **5 soul fragments** at a time. While attuned to the scythe, you can expend fragments in the following ways: - **Surge of Clarity.** Expend 1 fragment to gain advantage on all attack rolls, ability checks, and saving throws until the end of your next turn. - **Vital Restoration.** Expend 1 fragment to regain **30 hit points**. - **Stolen Moment.** Expend all 5 stored fragments to delay the effects of aging for **3 months**. This effect is cumulative; multiple uses extend this duration accordingly. While under this effect, the wielder does not physically age and retains their current state of vitality. This preservation does not prevent death from damage, disease, curses, or divine judgment, nor does it grant immunity to magical aging effects. If the Scythe is destroyed or unattuned, any remaining delayed aging resumes normally. - **Lantern Halo:** While attuned, you may emit dim light in a 30-ft. radius. Undead within this light have disadvantage on saving throws. - **Ultimate Invocation (1/week):** You may release all stored fragments to cast _sunburst_ and _finger of death_ simultaneously, centered on yourself, affecting only enemies.
